Improving manufacturing technologies to reduce the environmental impact

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
The Kuzbassrazrezugol-Vzryvprom team has set a goal to reduce seismic effects of blasting operations and harmful emissions into the environment.
We started with the drilling process: we reduced borehole diameters, which resulted in less amount of explosives used by 10 thousand tons a year.
We continued cooperation with Rostec, a Russian developer of initiation systems. Tests of the Nefrit electronic initiation system showed that in terms of seismic effects reduction it surpasses the best imported alternatives. After the Nefrit system is put into commercial production, KRU-Vzryvprom will become its main consumer.
There is work underway to reduce a cloud of dust and gas. The ASP-K preventive agent has been developed and experiments are being conducted on preparatory irrigation of sites to minimize the dust and gas effect of blasting operations.
