This can be done using an electronic blast initiation system which we developed together with Kuzbass scientists. The new technology was tested at the Kedrovsky open-pit mine. In a matter of seconds, solid rock is transformed into excavated material. At a distance of two kilometers, the blast is not heard and almost not seen.
The electronic blast initiation system calculates and programs the intervals between the blasts of each borehole. Slow successive blasting results in zero magnitude of subsoil fluctuations. Even seismic stations will not notice such an explosion. In addition, less harmful emissions will be released into the atmosphere.
